About The Author

Sonya Daniels Hines

Sonya Daniels-Hines is an author with a penchant for helping women and girls overcome challenges. This desire motivated her to become an author. Mrs. Daniels-Hines holds a degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from SUNY Erie Community College and a writing diploma from the Institute of Children’s Literature. Before deciding to become an author, Mrs. Daniels-Hines had a decorated career in communications. After decades of decorated service—including work as a Communications Coordinator for Organ and Tissue Donation in Buffalo, NY, a customer Relations Manager for a financial institution, and a Travel Team Loan Advocacy Specialist—she retired to follow her passion for writing. Throughout the years, Mrs. Daniel-Hines received awards for her prose.

Her piece Gift of Words was featured in the Book of Poems and Short Stories and was a contributor to A Celebration of Poets. She received the Editor’s Choice Award.

Her love for writing stems from a love for fiction, as well as a desire to humor her readers with thought-provoking and fascinating stories.

Her favorite people—apart from her family—are Maya Angelo, her coach Shana Danielle, Tyler Perry, Langston Hughes, and Edgar Allen Poe. She is a devoted wife to her husband Otto, and is a loving mother to her two children, Markus and Hansel. When she’s not writing, you can find Mrs. Daniel-Hines enjoying music, or arts and crafts.
